David Ornstein has reported that no agreement was reached at all between Tottenham and Bayern Munich today, with the German club’s hierarchy travelling to London for talks.
The journalist says talks will continue between the two clubs, but Bayern are currently £25m short of what it would take to actually sign Harry Kane this summer.
This comes after Florian Plettenberg reported that Bayern bosses had returned to Germany this evening, rather than sticking around for multiple days of negotiations.
However, he added that Bayern never expected to fly in and agree on a deal today.
Spurs and Bayern are far apart on Kane valuations
Sky Sports reported that Tottenham and Bayern remain £20m apart in their Harry Kane price tags, although Ornstein believes that figure is more like £25m.
Spurs also want a buy-back clause to be inserted into any deal so they can set up a potential reunion with their star striker in the future.
🚨 No agreement reached in today’s meeting between Bayern Munich & Tottenham over proposed transfer of Harry Kane. But talks continue + as things stand #FCBayern ~£25m short of what it would take for #THFC to consider sale. W/ @CDEccleshare @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/9Lxh7mpC8r

Spurs Web Opinion:
The gap seems to be getting bigger and bigger. £25m is a huge difference with just two weeks until the start of the new season. Spurs need to set a deadline for these talks like Borussia Dortmund did with Man United and Jadon Sancho, otherwise it threatens to derail the start of the new season.
