‘they are out…’ – Pep Guardiola makes interesting Tottenham prediction

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Tottenham will be in the mix for the title this season.

Tottenham have had a terrific start to the season as they sit on the top of the table with a 5 point lead over Manchester City who play Manchester United later tonight.

They are yet to be beaten in the league having won 8 games and drawn 2.

Their performances have left many surprised with no one expecting Ange Postecoglou to make the impact that he has made and that too in such a short time.

Pep Guardiola speaking to the media ahead of the Manchester Derby praised Tottenham and claimed that they will ‘definitely’ be in contention for the title.

He also pointed out that Spurs are out of the League Cup and with no European commitments, they will be much fresh all season compared to the other clubs fighting at the top of the table.

He said:

“Look at Spurs now, how good they are playing. One game a week, they have to be fresh all of the season, they are out of the Carabao Cup, so Spurs will be there for sure, definitely, with the quality they have, always they had the quality and now with the manager they have right now…”

TBH Says:

We may not have the squad depth to compete with the likes of City all season. A few injuries could end up impacting our season.

A lot will depend where we stand in the league come January and if we manage to sign several decent players who can depth to our squad.

But realistically, a top four finish would be a great achievement for Ange in his first season and will provide a foundation to build on for next season.
